Our work is driven by the contributions and support of individuals and organizations. Built on the need for better collaboration of genomic medicine organizations around the world, GGMC brings these efforts together to leverage the profound work being done in genomic medicine. Your contribution will help advance these genomic medicine integration efforts worldwide.
In the world’s wealthier countries, the use of technology for and knowledge about implementing genomic medicine is accelerating at a rapid pace, but there is a growing gap in practice and resources between the world’s wealthiest countries and low- to middle-income countries (LMICs).
This disparity between the health outcomes in wealthier countries and LMICs is widening and may reach a point of no return, where LMICs cannot keep up with the advances in wealthier countries, creating entrenched inequities for people around the world.
According to the World Health Organization, nine of the top 10 causes of death in low-income countries could be affected by genomic medicine, but many LMICs do not have the infrastructure necessary to effectively implement genomic medicine programs.
It doesn’t have to be this way.
Using genomic medicine, researchers, scientists and health care providers around the world can narrow the gap by sharing knowledge, resources, and technology across organizations to encourage genomic medicine integration and implementation in all reaches of the world.

Your funds will primarily support the general operations of GGMC’s Secretariat, the administrative arm that oversees and drives initiatives, activities, and projects that support the mission and vision of GGMC and its programs — the Global Genomic Medicine Consortium (G2MC) and the International Health Cohorts Consortium (IHCC).
By supporting GGMC operations, you will be supporting:
- Projects aimed at advancing health sciences and genomic medicine implementation across the globe, particularly in low- to middle-income countries (LMICs).
- Working groups and committees that are strategically formed to advance GGMC's mission.
- Public relations, technologies, websites, and outreach.
- The development of Early Career Investigators (ECIs), promoting the participation of the next generation of leaders in genomic medicine.
- International conferences that allow for leaders in genomic medicine to share knowledge and organize implementation projects, educational activities, and evaluations of best practices, enhancing collaborations that encourage genomic medicine implementation worldwide.
- Our efforts to ensure that all people have access to genomic medicine and its tremendous potential to change lives.
