IHCC Cohort Atlas: Advancing Global Discovery and Access

The IHCC Cohort Atlas has been a cornerstone of the International Health Cohorts Consortium, growing significantly over the years to now include 89 cohorts and encompassing millions of study participants. This online platform, accessible at atlas.ihccglobal.org, serves as a central hub for searching across IHCC cohort metadata, underpinned by a harmonized metadata model that maps to individual cohort data dictionaries. It represents a crucial step towards creating a federated, interoperable network for discovery, access, and cross-cohort analysis.

Looking ahead, IHCC aims to further develop the Cohort Atlas into a federated, FAIR (Findable, Accessible, Interoperable, Reusable) data management platform. This involves enhancing cohort discoverability, expanding data availability through federated cloud platforms, and integrating the Atlas with virtual environments for cohort cloud analysis. The goal is to facilitate easier access and utilization of research and clinical data from various cohorts, ultimately supporting more extensive and impactful scientific programs.
