WHY WE'RE HERE

Our Vision

Accelerate the integration and impact of genomic medicine health tools, technologies and knowledge into diverse global health care systems.

HOW WE GOT HERE

Our History

The Global Genomic Medicine Collaborative was established as a not-for-profit organization based in the United States in 2016 with the goal of enabling the implementation of genomic medicine worldwide in order to improve individual and population health. In 2022, after recognizing the need for better coordination of efforts in genomic medicine worldwide, the Collaborative was restructured to serve as a “parent” organization with a mission to facilitate and grow these efforts.

As part of this restructuring, the original Global Genomic Medicine Collaborative (G2MC) was renamed the Global Genomic Medicine Consortium. The Consortium, along with the International Hundred K+ Cohorts Consortium (IHCC) became a part of the parent organization, the Global Genomic Medicine Collaborative (GGMC).

The Global Genomic Medicine Collaborative (GGMC) provides financial management, operational and administrative support to the programs within our organization. We welcome other programs and organizations with a goal of genomic medicine development to become a part of our community.
