Welcoming Prof. Michele Ramsay as IHCC Co-Chair
IHCC is proud to announce Prof. Michele Ramsay has been elected by the IHCC Scientific Steering Committee to serve as the new IHCC Co-Chair.
Prof. Ramsay comes to us as the Director of the Wits Sydney Brenner Institute for Molecular Bioscience (SBIMB), Professor in Human Genetics and South African Research Chair in Genomics and Bioinformatics of African Populations. Some of her accolades include the a designation as the DSI Distinguished Woman Researcher, the NSTF-South32 Lifetime Achievement Award and a Gold Medal from the South African Medical Research Council.
Prof. Ramsay hopes to “work more closely with the IHCC executive and steering committees to enhance our global IHCC platform to support translational science, and to generate knowledge about the epidemiology and biology of diseases in different socioeconomic and cultural settings, with the aim to improve health and wellbeing throughout the world.”
