Family Health History

Genealogy Industry Partners

G2MC is looking for partners and funders to support a global multi-site demonstration project to capture and use family health history data in support of genomic-based healthcare for every patient.

Genealogy Industry: A Critical Multi-National Family Health History Project Partner

The world-wide genealogy industry has grown to include several hundred vendors, offering a growing family of products and services. There are thousands of genealogical societies and related genetic communities, specifically for learning about lineage and heritage. All of these activities generate, from great-grandparents to great-grandchildren, a huge interest in attending hundreds of local and International conferences.

Ancestral DNA testing is driving growth. But the DNA chip used to estimate where across the globe our ancestors lived is the same chip used to do genetic screening for health problems one may have inherited. Genealogy Industry analysts believe Pharmacogenomics is propelling the growth of the market. The Asia-Pacific region is expected to show the highest growth, for example, India and Indonesia.

Genealogy product and service companies are now harnessing big data tools, data analytics, machine learning and artificial intelligence, for storing and analyzing the large amount of information. They are hoping to find and monetize new diamonds of knowledge that may exist inside their mountain of data.

This is the time for genealogy and family health history to work together across the world.
