The Global Genomic Medicine Collaborative (GGMC) is looking for Principal Investigators (PIs) and Early Career Investigators (ECIs) interested in participating in our new mentorship program. 

GGMC defines Early Career Investigators as those that are young and/or new to the field of genomic medicine (graduate students, postdocs, and junior faculty within two years of their postdoc, residency, or fellowship, or investigators new to genomic medicine or a health sciences field within the past three years). The mentorship program will match PIs, to serve as mentors, with ECIs who share similar research and career interests. The program is designed to foster mutually beneficial relationships in which the PI will offer valuable guidance and support helping advance the ECI’s research and career trajectory, while the ECI has the opportunity to offer assistance with research initiatives and bring new ideas to the table.

GGMC is committed to the advancement of science to improve population health. By fostering the development of our ECIs, we are laying the groundwork for a promising future with significant advancements in health sciences. There are various mentoring styles that, when tailored to the needs of the mentee, produce the most effective mentoring. You can read more about these styles and other helpful tools here. It is our goal to assist with matching mentors whose styles best fit the needs of the ECI.

ECIs in low- and middle-income countries (LMICs) are especially encouraged to participate in this program as these are areas that can greatly benefit from advancements in health sciences.
